AllSeen Alliance Strengthens IoT Open Source Ecosystem with 20 New Members
Following its fourth code release, Alliance attracts leaders from networking operators to silicon vendors to further advance the AllJoyn framework

SAN FRANCISCO and TOKYO (LinuxCon Japan) - June 2, 2015 - The AllSeen Alliance, a cross-industry collaboration to advance the Internet of Everything through an open source software project, today announced 20 new members have joined the initiative. This marks the sixth consecutive month with double-digit member growth for the AllSeen Alliance, with more than 70 companies joining the initiative since January. Furthermore, these new members hold expertise across critical horizontal areas of the Internet of Things (IoT) - telecommunications and networking operators, software developers, IoT platforms and solutions, product companies and smart home automation.

The AllSeen Alliance’s diversity in membership strengthens the AllJoyn open source code, making it a robust, flexible framework that can be used in consumer, enterprise and industrial scenarios. The AllSeen Alliance recently announced its fourth major code release, AllJoyn 15.04, building on the rich, commercially deployed AllJoyn framework to deliver higher performance, extended scalability and enhanced security features. SAN DIEGO and SAN FRANCISCO, CA. May 29, 2015 Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM), today announced at Google I/O that its premium tier Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor will power Google’s next generation Project Tango smartphone development platform. Project Tango devices combine the camera, gyroscope, and accelerometer to estimate six degrees of freedom motion tracking, providing developers the ability to track 3D motion of a device while simultaneously creating a map of the environment. This capability is especially useful for applications such as real-world 3D gaming, indoor navigation, and virtual and augmented reality experiences. The development platform will be available for purchase in Q3 2015.

The Snapdragon 810 processor is designed to deliver the most advanced connected mobile computing experiences across video, imaging and graphics, making it ideal for applications that require complex 3D mapping. The Qualcomm Adreno 430 GPU is designed to deliver fast graphics and compute performance while reducing power consumption. It offers support for camera image and video post-processing, hardware tessellation, geometry shaders and programmable blending, as well as advanced GPU security for secure composition and management of premium video and other multimedia. The Snapdragon 810 processor also supports superior camera functionality, including dual 14-bit Image Signal Processors (ISP) with fast autofocus, depth sensing, and advanced imaging software that helps enable advanced camera features particularly in low light environments. High quality 4K HEVC Ultra HD video encoding and decoding is also supported by Snapdragon 810.

Qualcomm Announces NTT DOCOMO as First Operator to Adopt New Qualcomm Snapdragon Sense ID Biometrics Platform
New Technology Supports Improved Mobile Payment and Content Experiences for End-Users

SAN DIEGO, CA May 25, 2015 Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. (QTI), a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM), today announced that NTT DOCOMO INC. (DOCOMO), is the first operator to adopt and implement the Qualcomm Snapdragon Sense ID biometrics platform. The platform, which is currently supported in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, is being utilized alongside third-party biometric sensors for DOCOMO’s mobile biometric authentication service starting on May 27, 2015 in Japan. The DOCOMO service including “docomo ID login authentication and carrier billing payment” will help provide DOCOMO customers with improved and enhanced security, as well as ease of authentication when making mobile payments and accessing DOCOMO’s content and services. With the Snapdragon Sense ID biometrics platform, DOCOMO has provided customers with a solution that is designed to address the inherent limitations of passwords and pin codes. The unique advantages and benefits of the Snapdragon Sense ID biometrics platform have led DOCOMO to deploy this service across their entire network.
DOCOMO is expected to launch the DOCOMO online authentication service with smartphones from Sharp and Fujitsu utilizing the Snapdragon Sense ID biometrics platform on May 28, 2015 and plans to expand its biometric authentication offering to additional high-end devices in the winter. It is anticipated that many Android devices launching on the DOCOMO network with services, including “docomo ID login authentication and carrier billing payment,” will utilize the Snapdragon Sense ID biometrics platform.

Daimler and Qualcomm Announce Strategic Collaboration on Connected Car Technologies

MONACO May 23, 2015 Today, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM), and Daimler AG announced a strategic collaboration focused on pioneering innovation in the connected car. In the first phase of the collaboration, the companies will focus on transforming future vehicles with mobile technologies that enhance in-car experiences and vehicle performance such as 3G/4G connectivity, wireless charging technology for in-vehicle use and implementation of the Qualcomm Halo Wireless Electric Vehicle Charging (WEVC) technology. In addition, the companies are jointly assessing the application of Qualcomm Technology’s newly developed Automotive Solutions.

Qualcomm Technologies is collaborating with Daimler on its Wireless Power Transfer 2.0 high performance program for electric vehicles. クアルコムが加盟しているAllSeen Allianceが5月21日(米国時間)、キヤノン株式会社が加盟したことを発表しました


クアルコムが加盟している、Internet of Everythingの製品・システム・サービスの幅広い採用を推進する非営利のオープンソースコンソーシアムであるAllSeen Alliance(https://allseenalliance.org/)が5月21日(米国時間)、キヤノン株式会社がAllSeen Allianceに加盟したことを発表しましたのでご連絡申し上げます。
